Thai Yoga Bodywork
An ancient tradition. An alchemical renewal.
In Northern Thailand, nestled at the foot of a sprawling mountain range, is a city called Chiang Mai. A bustling mix of ancient and modern, the study of Thai Yoga Bodywork lives on in real time. Some teachers are steeped in the tradition by having been born into it. Others came to it later. Everyone values it, however. In Thailand, a 90 minute session only costs about $10, making it accessible to pretty much anyone and everyone.
The elaborate spas where they wash your feet with rose petals are wonderful, and the communal aspect of getting temple massage is exceptional.
Preventative living is a solid tenant of Thai culture, and the West can't get on board fast enough.
The true value is the longevity of functional life. Grandparents in the floor playing with grandkids, elderly mountain hiking and adventuring, faster and more complete recovery from injuries and surgeries, sustainable activities because of sustainable habits, these are things in life we can impact!
What is Thai Yoga Bodywork?
Thai is one of the most trauma-informed bodywork modalities in the world. Clients keep their baggy and comfortable clothes on, lay down on a thick mat on the floor, and breathe while their muscles are compressed and released, joints are mobilized and given traction, and nervous system pathways are cleared.

Benefits include down regulation of the CNS, improved mental clarity, greater range of motion, diminished chronic pain and symptoms of some autoimmune diseases, faster recovery in athletics and from injuries, a greater connection between your body and mind, and so much more.

Any LMT or CYT can learn the graceful art of Thai Yoga Bodywork. Not only will it be a gift to your service to your clients, but also to your own body as you practice it.
